Notes:
1/ Accept/reject numbers apply to cartridges that fail to provide all three of the impact
signatures (flash, smoke and sound). For 1000 meter test, sound and smoke or sound
and flash are also acceptable.
2/ Same projectiles that are subjected to 1000 meter min, Sensitivity Test and rapid fire
tests.
3/ 100 rounds shall be subjected to each of the functioning tests listed above, see 4.5.6.
4/ Functioning test results except for air bursts and safety (3.4.1) are for informational
purposes only.
5/ Projectiles fired in Sensitivity and rapid fire tests shall be recovered and inspected for
missing petals and blown bases.
6/ One defect consists of one or more missing petals per projectile.
7/ If alternate knurling configuration is used, the projectile assemblies shall be subjected
to temperature conditioned testing as specified by paragraph 4.5.10.
8/ This acceptance criteria applies for the total of the functioning failures (duds) from
1000 Meter Test and the Sensitivity Test.
9/ Accept/Reject numbers only apply to cartridges that fail to function on impact with the
soft target, but function on impact behind the soft target.
10/ A sufficient number of assemblies shall be disassembled to obtain the sample
specified in 4.5.8
